Hi, Wendy could you post pics of your newly styled 2nd freedom piece so that I and others can see the new cap and the bang less style you got? That will be so helpful for me cause the 3rd piece I will be getting is also the new cap. I think the order I placed is with bangs but with the new cap I think I can have the option of with or w/o bangs even though the bangs option was checked off on the box? Not sure, but I hope that I can get the new piece styled with w/o bangs and if not the side swept bangs is good also. I'm just ready for new high lights to be put on for my 3rd piece for the summer!

Hey there! I've just had my 2nd piece of freedom styled yesterday. I think the new scalp is much better than the old one, but for some reason, the old wig fits my head better. Or maybe i just need time to get used to the new hair. I have partial hair loss ever since aged 9 and to wear freedom, i've started shaving abt 3 yrs ago. Very expensive investment but wellw orth it if u can make the hair piece work for u. My 1st piece worked beautifully. I'm still trying to make the 2nd piece work. BTW, both the old and new pieces of wigs I have come without bangs and i left them without bangs. Hate bangs. They make pimples grow on my forehead. So yeah, if u get the right hair direction on your freedom order, u can go bangless. =)

Hi Jude when Nicole had the remaining bit of her hair shaved off we were shocked at how little she had actively growing probably less than 10%.

Maya you are a brave and wise young girl...........and if people do say anything then it is them who has the problem or need educating about alopecia then perhaps they wouldn't be so inconsiderate. Freedom wigs are great for security aren't they..............Nicole had a girl come up to her at school and pull her hair just to see if it was a wig............thankgoodness she had her freedom on and not her old wig that could of been disastrous.

Take care
Sharon

Juda-

I used to be terrified at school and places that my hat would fall off or my wig would be crooked or something and sombody would know i wear a wig or im almost bald...but im not anymore because i thought , you know, so what? Its not like its embarrasing or something, its not like people will look at you in disgust, i mean they know its probobly not your fault and you cant do anything about it...its nothing to be ashamed of (well sort of but you no what i mean right?!) hope this helps!

Thats good you have hair attached...i still wear just my hat sometimes when im just going ... idk somewhere like my friends house and i have a halo wig that you wear a hat over it because its just like the top is cut off so your head can breath!

I'm curious about how much hair loss people have who have Freedom wigs. At the moment I have about 80-90% of my hair growing. I realise you have to shave it to wear a Freedom wig. I'm worried though that if I invest in one it'll all grow back. I could probably grow it now and cover most of it up but the patches are quite widespread and it would be a job to cover it up. I've made do with cheaper wigs up until now but miss being able to style my hair. It seems a lot of money to invest when I now have most of my hair but the patches are widespread and I couldn't style it much if I grew it. It also might get worse. I'm also terrified all the time of my current wig coming off. Any ideas?

Hi Maya-
No i'm not completely bald yet... my hair has fallen out underneath so there is just a strip on the top left so i'm going to be brave and shave it off before i go.
Even though you've got your new hair you can still wear your hats... i've got quite attached to some of mine too so i'm sure i'll still be wearing mine. I'll probably just get some thinner ones so my head doesn't get too hot... maybe you could design your own and then you could have any hat you like!

yay! thank you maya for starting this group. very clever of you! i will be getting my third one real soon and i can't wait! it will be 14 inches of hair and i can't wait to wear it! the new one i will be getting is the new generation cap and i also have the option of going bangless. which will be great cause i never wore bangs when i had my real hair. but the side swept bangs have been so popular that it works out great. i attached a pic of my oldest freedom wig (7 years old) with some bangs cut out to camo the wear of the hair line. i love the highlights on it and can't seem to let it go. so now i just wear it out to the gym or the beach. oh, the profile pic of me is the same one with the bangs.

I'm so pleased to see this group! I have had my Freedom wig for almost a year - the photo is of me in my old synthetic one. The Freedom one is a million times better. It took me a while to get used to it but now I don't even know I'm wearing it half the time and I can go out on the windiest day, or dance the night away, without wondering if I'm going to lose my hair (I did actually lose my synthetic one when out dancing one night - ooops :)). I'm saving up for another one ...
