Vancouver Alopecia Areata Support Group

Hello Vancouverites! Connecting is one of the best ways to feel happier and become more informed! Come as you are, whether you are shy or outgoing. This is a genuine and fun group where all of us - new to alopecia or experienced, hair-wearer or au natural, seeking treatment or not - all come together and be supportive, informative, and positive for one another. After 4+ years of running this group, I can say for sure that you'll feel better after a meetup! :)

Come to our monthly meetups, or, start by joining this group and be in the loop of upcoming meetups! Sometimes I include alopecia news / remedy / stories too.

If your kid / teen has alopecia, please contact us and we'll put you in touch with other parents! It'll be, I believe, quite awesome for your child :)

Upcoming Meetups

This group gets together monthly at one of the members' homes - a cozy, positive, and fun environment, for those with alopecia. We are here to support one another, and every meetup has been amazingly mood-lifting.

Join us here and we'll send next meeting details to you in a group email!

You can always get a hold of us via AW messaging or at alopecia.vancouver[at]gmail.com

We are affiliated with CANAAF (Canadian Alopecia Areata Foundation).

Next meet up: We meet about once a month. Please email Tanya at the emil address above!

Unfortunately I cannot do the 18th - I've got an exam! I'd love to be there but if it doesn't work out, I'll try for next month :)

Awesome guys! Either date works for me too. I can't wait for this get-together!

JBean can you do 18th as wel?

Chris J can you do 11th if it is hosted at my place (instead of yours)?

And everyone - I sent out an email to all the members of the Vancouver NAAF group. They have 40 members but not as active as this group. Will keep you posted!

Funny, as I was thinking a hike would be a cool group activity . . . I have never done The Grind, and am a bit reluctant as I am not the Queen of Lung Capacity, but would be willing to try . . .

I could definitely make it on the 11th. Sounds like a great idea.

Would love to join you if it's on a Tuesday. I would be crossing the border, and need some directions, but sure I could make it work if I have enough notice. I look forward to meeting everybody if possible.

Hey Jana, yes we can do either week night!

If it's Tuesday you can bring your daughter, is that correct? I think she should totally come! I think more exposure for her would be good!

Oh wow I never knew about Georgia! That is an amazing story. And fantastic fantastic idea to invite her!!

Everyone, movie trailer here:

Wow......the beach walk.....I have been thinking about how hard it would be for me to go bald... but I think it is something I need to do. Spanish Banks seems like the right place to do it as well......

I am in for the potluck either Monday or Tuesday the week of the 18th - I am in the process of moving as we speak so perhaps I will hold the next get together at my place once we are settled. Love the idea of community support and awareness - I am in!
