Hi Paul

What sort of age group are you looking at Paul?? Do you want to include children, tweens and teens??? Or have you something else in mind. Let me know as I think I should be able to help with some numbers - possibly. :)

I don't know really lol. haven't really thought about it At first it would be open to anyone I guess, the kids can be off having fun doing "something", and if AA adults turn up they could have a chat over a coffee, guess it all depends on the facilities of whatever place we find.

Alternatively the event is just a bbq or such that has something extra there for the kids to do while the Adults chat. Your know me, am just trying to get others thoughts without thinking too hard about it :).

Ok, understand.

My thoughts around this is that it should be open to all who would find it helpful to attend. (all ages, families etc.).

A few years ago I organised a wee get together in Auckland at a restaurant, that went well for everybody. Parents, teenagers, children. Maybe something over a lunchtime with somewhere nice for the younger children to play (even something a little organised for them) so parents/ and adults can have a wee chinway. I know PCAF have had great response with Pizza nights. Easy for everyone.

ummmm... location - where you get the best response? anything... not a lot lol

Hiya, i love that everyone is on the same page here, i have been thinking of trying to find my daughter some friends "like her" to show her she is not alone. She has just turned 6. We live in Hamilton and i know of a couple of 13yr old girls that would definately be keen and a 19yr boy who might be interested....i know his mum is!
Auckland is good for me its easy enough to get to from Hamilton. i don't think i could afford to take my family out of the north island. But it all sounds fantastic, Pot luck lunch would be perfect, i'm sure Rainbows end, waiwera hot pools and auckland zoo have areas you can reserve that have BBQ's Even a big playground or park...possibly a beach in the warmer months could be an option aswell.
Look forward to hearing other ideas and eventually meeting you all.

I didnt actually get that much feedback and then I've had a load of issues due to the earthquakes (insurance claim excess'es really do suck !) but hopefully one day we can get something organised
