Where acceptance is all there is!

People in the New England area, please join us in Boston on National Bald Out Day. We will walk through history (on the Freedom Trail) while we make history as the first annual national bald out. Just for the day we can call it the Freedom (from hair) Trail! The day will start in the Charlestown Navy Yard as there is parking at the MGH garage that is more affordable than many places in Boston. We will proceed to the Constitution Museum and maybe even check out Old Ironsides. We will then follow the trail over the bridge to the North End and to other sites like the Copp's Hill Burying Ground, Old North Church and Paul Revere House. We will make our way toward Faneuil Hall where we can grab lunch in the food court at the Quincy Market. Not sure how far everyone will want to go, but you get the idea. Stay tuned for times and details. Comments and suggestions are welcome!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!! I love it!

Please take photos - this goes for everyone wherever your NBO event is. I'd like to post a bunch on AW, and we might be able to use photos to promote future years (this is only going to grow!). Maybe we can set up a special place for Bald Out photos on AW.

DETAILS:

Parking is available in the MGH parking garage at 5th & 13th streets just inside Gate 5 in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Walk up 13th to 1st ave and follow 1st ave into Constitution Park (3 - 4 blocks). We will meet in front of the Constitution Museum (see map at http://www.nps.gov/bost/planyourvisit/upload/Chas%20NY.pdf)at 11:00 AM. We will follow the Freedom (from hair) Trail over the bridge to the North End with stops at Copp's Hill Burying Ground, Old North Church, etc. We should get to Fanueil Hall area in time for lunch in the food court at Quincy Market. Where it goes from there is up to the crowd. Wear comfortable shoes and appropriate attire based on the weather forecast. It would be helpful to RSVP so we know how many folks to wait for before we start out. Let's make some history in Boston!

We will definitely have pics! I even have a few bald wigs in case we get a couple of hairy people to join us! Hope everyone takes pics at every NBO celebration!

OMG! I love the idea of the bald wig caps!

We have a man and a woman coming to the San Diego celebration who don't have AA, but who are shaving their heads in support of friends who do. Awesome.

I was wondering whether it might be cute to have helium balloons with faces drawn on them to look like bald heads - but I haven't tried it yet to see if it looks neat, or ridiculous. ( ;-)
