Permalink Reply by Cheryl, Co-founder on January 25, 2012 at 3:36pm I from time to time have shoulder problems. This time it lasted a bit longer than usual and I backed off of my exercise routine, then got use to not doing it at all. I want to get started again and it is easier when I have a set time, but I realize that that is not possible for me right now. I have a lot of time restraints right now, but I do realize that many people also have difficult time restraints and have gotten it done. So I know I have to "just do it" and stop the excuses. I think I will start by sitting down and writing down all my restraints/excuses and come up with a solution for each, whether I chose to allow it to stop me or not -- At least that way I will have to admit, that if there is a will there is a way. It is a matter of how badly do I really want it. So, I would be interested in any suggestions?
Permalink Reply by JeffreySF on January 25, 2012 at 7:55pm I've been exercising regularly for 15 years now. if i don't I feel like ugh!
My routine is 3 days a week of Cardio Kickboxing with some weights and stretching afterwards. It takes me an hour a day 3 days a week.
There are lots of gyms out there with classes to get you motivated and have some fun with your routine.
I have been doing my routine at a local Martial Arts Studio for the past year.
Hope you find this helpful.

Permalink Reply by Cheryl, Co-founder on January 26, 2012 at 3:49pm Ain't that right John! A few year back I used to drive to the gym whether I wanted to go or not and give myself permission not to enter if I really didn't want to when I got there. That gives me a great idea. I should make it a point to get dressed, cue up the DVD player and give myself permission to skip it if I still really don't want to do it. I found that when I use to do that, perhaps I skipped out only a few times. For sure I did the workout more than I skipped out. The thought was that I was already there, I might as well just do it. Thanks for letting me "talk" this out. I will let you know how it works out ;)
Permalink Reply by Pat on January 27, 2012 at 1:25am yeh that's so true John. It helps so much that we've mainly exercised together whether jogging or gym work. It's good to have a partner or friend to go along with just to keep me on my toes. Once I'm at the gym I'm good to go. Getting into a routine is the main thing so I don't have to think about it as the more I think about getting ready to go the more I talk myself out of it!

Permalink Reply by Cheryl, Co-founder on March 28, 2012 at 1:24pm Hi Mary, would you consider a bandanna or scarf? Also, I used to wear an older/cheaper wig to the gym.
