It's only been five months so I wouldn't say I'm happy yet. But I do have some silly moments, and that's a relief. I'd like to get to the point that I'm a happy hairless person. It helps that every month I have less odd patches of hair to shave. I'm a low-maintenance kind of guy, to I'm at the point of "less hair is better". So that's progress!

I am new to AW but have had AU for over 20 years. I cried when I saw this group. It is so nice that there are others out there that don't care they have alopecia. I guess it's because I have had it for so long that it's just who I am and what I know. I am happy to say alopecia has never effected my way of life and never will! I have never had to shave my legs and I love it!! I do wear wigs but not all the time. I live in New England so I like to wear them because they keep my head warm and in the summer I tend to wear them just to make others around me more comfortable but this summer when I go to the town pool with my daughter I am going wig free! And it's all because of the amazing people on AW. I am so happy to be a part of AW and now this group. Thank you all!

Before I started losing my hair I would never have imagined that I could say: I love having no hair and would by no means like to have it back. I like the looks and the special people having it (having said this I want to stress that I don't want to offend the many who are struggling to come to terms and wish their hair back - it's just my view)

I began to lose my hair in high school, now at the ripe old age of 47 I ROCK! I have the best boyfriend on the planet. My friends are so loving and loyal. My family is so cool and my fellow alopecians are the most beautiful people I've ever seen. I am so cute I wonder what took me so long to shave my head. It's good to be FREE!

When I lost my hair it was the 1st day of the rest of my life!! I wouldn't have found my true lifelong friends that I have. I love the saying "Alopecia....like a thief in the night, you changed my life!!" Alopecia changed my life for the better!!
