Steam does have a few free games that are pretty fun, especially now that Team Fortress 2 is free to play FOREVER!
Spiral Knights is an RPG from Sega, which takes you down deep into the Clockworks to defeat monsters and discover mysteries of the Clockworks, which rotates beneath the surface in real time, this game's free too, so check it out, it's pretty fun
Another game, that I'm enjoying for free is Phantasy Star Universe for PC on the Japanese server. Yes, the US PC servers were shut down last year, but if you're willing to look beyond the language barrier, the game has vast improvements over the 360 version, and has an active and helpful English-speaking community.

Sorry I haven't been around in so long. I'm gonna try and come back more often.
A couple of bits of news for gamers:
My favourite FPS(first person shooter) is now free to play, Teamfortress 2.
Also for those creative people out there should check out Minecraft. Don't let the graphics fool you, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

lol I also downgraded to xp, my computer isn't that good and vista ate way too much resources and would do annoying things in the background while I played.

charters = characters ooooops
Keith Davey Comment by Keith Davey on October 5, 2009 at 3:29am
Oh YEAH! the charters are Hilarious and thanks for sparking some memory cells. i think the funniest is the Heavy Weapons Guy with his Russian accent and how he kisses his mega gun and to make him sound off he says kaboooooooom! Or is that the demolition guy? That scout with the baseball bat cracks me up too!

I really miss playing it, but to have it always go into an audio melt down and require a full reboot of my PC, it got to be not worth the grief. maybe some day i will have a new system and we can hook up and I can learn some tricks.. I did study up on a lot of it. I love being an engineer and placing those guns strategically and blasting the crap out of enemies as they come flying into a room. Have fun and kill a couple bad guys for me too, would ya?

Maybe I need a MAC some day. I bet windows 7, before the obvious patches come out will be even more of a night mare that Vista was at first (maybe still is) I have stuck with XP on every PC and laptop that I have.

Another thing I love about TF2 are how well done all the characters are. Each is hilarious, well balanced and fun to play.
Each class has its place on the team;
Offense
Scout Hit and Run and Quick Capture
Soldier Shock and Awe with his rocket launcher
Pyro the Ambush class, also the best at weeding out spys
Defense
Demoman Area Denial and the best at clearing out sentry guns
Heavy Weapons Guy He's huge, slow and carries a 300 lb minigun nuff said
Engineer builds machine to help out the team such as Automated Sentry Guns, Health Dispensers and Teleporters.
Support
Medic Keeps the team alive and breaks stalemates when he unleashes his ubercharge
Sniper Precision Elimination, he takes out key targets
Spy his job is to sow paranoia and fear into the other team by disguising as enemies and using his invisibility cloak to sneak behind enemy lines
If you want to know more you should meet the team only the Pyro and Medic's video's are missing still.

See now this is why I made this group, to give people with Alopecia a chance to meet up and share a love for gaming. Too bad no one plays TF2 except me....
T_T Tear tear... I have CS:S too but I suck at it, after so much Team Fortress 2 I suck at most FPS games now. In TF2 though I am a beast at soldier, I love rocket jumping, soaring through the air to land on someone's head with my shovel and give them a good whack.
