Wondering if there could be a connection: FFA, Bowens disease, Sarcoidosis, Endometriosis & (pre surgery malignant ) Thyroid Nodule...

I joined this group for digital support, as I don't want to continue to wears wigs. If not before, I can't do it next summer - 2015. I've been in denial ..

When friends suggested Rogaine & other options - NOTHING. Bought a new wig. I thought my hair needed a rest. 2 years later, I asked the Dermotologist that diagnosed the Bowens for biopsy. I never saw the results, she said it was inconclusive ".. You're lucky. You look good in your wigs. Keep wearing them. No worries".

Although about an inch of my hairline is now gone, I never related to the word Alopecia. I had my eyebrows tattoed a couple of years ago. Actually, I just have an outline. It hurt. I asked her to stop. Still, I didn't relate to the word alopecia until last week. Not only do I have AlopecIA; I have FFA.

Now that I am facing my reality, I am wondering could there be any connections with some of the health issues I've dealt with the past decade. I had separate specialists & never thought about it before.

Coincidence?

Any thoughts or similar health adventures?

KayDeeW, I am sorry your derm brushed off your concerns with the comment about looking good in wigs. That was not helpful. Did you try Rogaine snd found it did not work? I don't think any of us have had success with regrowing hair that has been lost along the hairline, but some have found it helpful in making the remaining hair feel thicker so that it is easier to hide the bald or sparse areas. Others have found that partial hairpieces are a blessing. There is some very useful information on this forum,  if you read through the past posts. I hope you will find some support and understanding here.

Alice - I am reading through previous posts. I cut the remaining hair off recently to get used to the look.
