Hi All,

In addition to taking Dutasteride, I also use 5% minoxidil/Rogaine. At first I was using it twice a day, then once a day, and now I'm getting bad about even doing it daily. Not only was I using it on my hairline, but on the top of my head where I think there is some androgenic alopecia, which isn't very bad and may just be typical with increased age.

Anyway, I have noticed that a couple of baby hairs that have come in around my temples are thick, coarse, and dark. Dare I say pubic hair-like? This has contributed to me decreasing my use of Rogaine (as well as it being a pain and giving me dandruff). Has anyone else experienced this? Is this typical?

Hi,

I was using Rogaine once a day and I noticed my hairline receded even more. I stopped using the Rogaine. My dermatologist said that might happen. This disease is so frustrating!

Hi Jess- I've been using Rogaine but I stopped using it on my hairline. I have some baby hairs too. Some are coarse, some are very fine, some are all by themselves and none of them lay in the same direction. Lovely. . But my hairline has also receded and my bangs are so thin now. I'm also having overall thinning and I know Rogaine can cause some shedding so I have no idea what is causing what anymore. I started this awful journey with a high forehead so this is all beyond depressing. I have an appt with my dermatologist next week so I plan on asking about Dutasteride.
