Hello to everyone!
This group is perfect for me. I too love arts and crafts. I spent a few years teaching various crafts to children and adults and always seem to be the go to person do creative ideas. I used to run my own giftbasket business when it was popular in the 1990's. I was employed as a graphic designer and I am now learning website design and development. I am currently working on my own website and blog... It's a slow process. I love to crochet and am a pretty decent artist so I've been told. I have a sewing machine I would love to learn how to use. I am also looking to design my own line of ladies handbags and totes.
Anyone here from the Oranges in New Jersey?

Just joined the group. I have been crafting, sewing, crocheting, knitting and machine embroidering for many years now. Currently, making hats for women and kids for charity, is my latest project.

Hello - I have just joined and this is going to be fun - you all sound so crafty!!! My kind of people! I have been crafting all my life - finished a 35 year career as a graphic designer and now back to my favorite pastime. Here's 2 photos of me sewing my hats for children at St. Jude's Hospital. These are cotton fabric hats with bead and sequin embellished yo-yos.
Later, Valerie

Yes I am lucky because my mum has buttons in massive tins from herself, my grandma and my nana. If you don't have any, a good tip from me (LOL if I do say so myself) is to go on ebay and look for "buttons vintage mixed lot" and it should bring up so nice finds, which would be a good way of starting a little stash.

I will try and get the photos up/done this week. :o)

Oh Vicsta, now you're making me drool ( nice picture........NOT) talking about old buttons! I'd love to find a good stash of old buttons and antique lace.

Can't wait to see your photos :).

Marie - My favourite colours are pink, green, lilac, purple, yellow. Do you sell them online then?

I was thinking, when I have some spare time (that seems unlikely at the moment) of making some little coin purses and using buttons and beads to decorate them along with ribbon/lace as we have LOADS of old buttons and antique lace and things like that.

Another thing I do is I make stiffened bows for my Yorkshire terrier dog... forgot about that. Hence why I tend to have lots of ribbon in stock.

Hi everyone, since activity has picked up here in the Crafty Alopecians group, don't hesitate to start discussions. I'm going to put up a few threads in the discussion forum, and you can comment and share things that you've made or want to make.
