I think the thing I miss the most is my lashes. I can't use fake ones because there is no lashes to achor too.
As for when I got AU that was when I was 18. It was a gradual hairloss since I was 8.

Other than my hair? I miss my eyebrows. I still have some lashes - very thin, but I can manage to get some to pick up mascara.

When I was first diagnosed with AA, 12 years ago, I had full regrowth. In March of this year, I lost every bit of hair on my body (except for those few lashes) within two months. ....

And my only birthmark is on my back. Shaped like New Jersey. Brown, not red. ;-)

I guess I've had AU since college. Last year, I made the decision to get my eyebrows "tattooed" on, which was such a huge relief for me. It's amazing the sense of normalcy you can get when you don't have to draw on your eyebrows every day! I have notice my fingernails looking particularly worse these days.

I've been au for nearly 20 years. I miss my eyelashes the most - and nose hair! I get regrowth here and there which falls out again. Also I've regrown pubic hair last year but noticed this week it's falling out again. I go with the flow these days but getting old is bad enough...being old and bald is another thing again :0

This is weird.. I have always had a red birth mark on the back of my neck, you couldnt see it since I was a little girl and grew hair..But, since I have lost all my hair- You can see it again.
I wonder how many people have this and dont even know it?

I have the red birth mark also! I was told most people have it but you just can't see it because of the hair! My ex boyfriend's family all have the red mark so I don't think it is because of Alopecia. I have seen it on them!

I've had AU for about a year now and I do have that red mark at the back of my head too... I thought it was caused by the pressure of the wigs or the adjustable straps on them....maybe not...

Had AU for over 40 years now. Told its an auto immune disorder. Best thing I ever did was to ditch the wig and accept it!
