My nephew and I both lost our hair (AU) within 8 months of each other. He was treated for Lyme and his grew back. Now I'm being treated for Lyme and dark hair is coming through my white hair. Anyone else have this experience?

Never heard of this. Did you both have Lyme disease? What does the treatment entail?

Angie! I've been reading your posts and I can relate to them completely. My nephew was 5 when his hair fell out and I followed him 8 months later. My sis, Margaret, first took him to an alopecia "specialist" who basically gave her that steroid foam and told her to hope for the best. She quickly turned to an integrative doctor and it has been a long but enlightening and rewarding process. He will be 9 in July and he has all of his hair and he is healthier than ever. The doctor he saw tested him for *everything* including heavy metal toxicity (he had high levels of lead in his blood) and Lyme and the co-infections that can go with Lyme including Bartonella, Babesia, etc. She addressed the Lyme in him and heavy metal toxicity and as she cleared these things his hair grew. The integrative approach not only promotes healthy eating to help support your body it also aims to unburden your system from environmental toxins. I initially saw an integrative doctor and my Lyme tests came up negative but when I saw my nephew's doctor she ordered a slide of my blood that revealed the damage from both Lyme and Bartonella. Lyme can be very tricky. You need a "Lyme literate" doctor to diagnose and treat it. I had grown white hair that covered my head but was diffuse and baby fine. Now, three years later, my old hair is growing inbetween the white hairs. I have my eyebrows back and other hair is growing. I can directly line this up with the Lyme treatment. Other things have improved tremendously including my eczema, asthma, and allergies (environmental and food). I was also diagnosed with Hashimoto so I am taking Iodoral (iodine) and thyroid hormone. I do follow, as much as possible the whole food/anti-inflammatory diet. I now it's difficult with children, especially the sugar! I'll stop here. Hope this is helpful and please keep me posted. I'm sure there is other stuff I haven't mentioned like treatment. Oops! We are both on Low Dose Naltrexone and we both take homeopathic meds mostly from Byron White. I'd be happy to provide more detail if needed. Hang in there.

Thank you for this detail. We hope to have similar results, too. I totally understand this treatment methodology.

Liz can you provide me with the name of the lyme literate doctor? Thank you!

I am curious too about what your treatment plan is?

Liz, I'm in southwest Virginia and would love to find a doctor who can do this? Are you close? And if not, is it possible for you to ask your doctor if she knows anyone in my area who can help me?

what is your treatment plan?
