I have recently been diagnosed with AU and wanted to know what people do when exercising in public. I always wear my wig, make up eyebrows and false lashes when I am out, but I really want to take a yoga class but am not confident about going bald. Also, I signed up for my first 5km run for next year but didn't know what to wear on my head and what to do about my eyebrows. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you wear lace wig, it won't prevent you to play sports. I was practicing yoga and going to a gym with full lace wig for a long time. It is very comfortable like a cap.

Excellent, thank you. I think mine is only lace at the front so I'll definitely look for a full lace one. Thanks!

Where do you get lace wigs?  This is the first I'm hearing about them. I would appreciate any info. you could give me. Thanks so much

Kathleen, Check out HairDirect.com for affordable, quality full-lace hair systems and wigs.

I do yoga witha a bandana, and I have my eyebrows tatooed with micropigmentation

you have to do whatever you want, in the way that makes you confortable

I just run in a ballcap; sometimes I get weird looks, or people ask me if I have cancer, but I just smile and tell them it's alopecia.  Once I'm running, I forget I don't have hair.

That's a great idea too! Thanks!

I now go bald with sunscreen or a bandana ( I am a runner).  I wear MAC eyebrow pencil with their eyebrow finisher that keeps it from fading when I sweat.  My next step is tattoos.

I am thinking of getting my eyebrows tatooed but am very nervous to have it done. Anyone have pictures or advice for me???

I run (well, not right now- I have an injury) with a light weight ball cap. I love in Florida, so a wig would just not work. It also provides sun protection although I prefer to run right around dawn. When I bike (well, again, not now), I wear a helmet with a cap from Headsweats under it.
Eyebrows often get rubbed off truthfully. I haven't foumd a way to prevent that with sweating.

"Stila waterproof eyeliner"- that is my brow pen. It is the best thing ever, and never goes with sweat... even in the heat of summer. but do not touch it if it's very hot and you are sweating, or the eyebrow may... move!! haha, but I have been using this pen for a while and no one knows I don't have eyebrows unless i tell them. When I do- they're like... wow, I would have never guessed. So, I recommend!
