hi we just started with wigs for kids, we just got approved 2 weeks ago and wed we went and got measured! we will recieve our wig in 2 months! we got to meet jeffrey paul the founder, it was a great exserience i totally recomend it! i actually just started a discussion on it!
Awesome! Do you live in Ohio or did you fly out there? We are in PA but in eastern PA so I would be seeking someplace local to do the fittings.

I'm still up in the air about it all though...she's made a few comments about one but it's all been in passing...my fear is when she starts "real" school in the fall, entering kindergarten. I would hate for her to come up asking for one and then have to wait until it was ready for her.
Hi Jen I am Sandra and new to the website. I have a 16 year old daughter diognosed with AA back in September. a couple of days ago I got on a site called locksoflove. I had been familiar with this locksoflove because I have a friend that donates his hair to it. Thought you could check them out as well. My daughter is not sure if she wants a wig yet or not. She has lots of spots hair still falling out. It's hard as a parent i'm sure you know to watch your child go through this. We have our good days and bad days. Good Luck Sandra
Just an FYI - Locks of Love does a sliding scale for the amount of money it will cost you for a wig. They have you submit your income tax forms. I started initally looking into Locks of Love but learned about Wigs for Kids and how they do USE most of the hair that is donated for children who do need it.
FYI, the Hair Club for Men offers the Hair Club for kids. They offer a free program for kids age 6-17. The kids get 3 free wigs a year and the process is easy. You just get an application and doctors signature and take it to your local Hair Club for men. They did a great job matching a color from pictures. They will also give you 8 free services a year. The hair can be taped or glued on. www.hairclub.com.
I guess my little girl wouldn't qualify since she's only 5. Good to know for the future though. Thanks!
Hi Jen,
I have gotten 2 wigs from wigs for kids over the last 5 yrs. I really do recommend this organization they are understanding and helpful through the whole process (even though I didn't want to get a wig when my mom dragged me there just to check it out) They are great to work with and they were suggested to me through the cleveland clinic. I believe the fittings may be done locally, but I am not really sure we drove out there from bradford pa b/c i was going through treatment there.
we live about an hr and 45 mins from cleveland so we just obviously drove! we went to the jeffrey paul salon to get fitted, he is the founder of wigs for kids, and we got to meet him! he is such an amazing man, he truely is a gift from god! each child gets 1 free wig a year until 18! they said that it takes 20-30 12 inch pony tails to make one child wig! i have pix on my page of our wig fitting, it was very comfortable and soothing! i was soo worried about the whole thing but left very satisfied and relieved! and jen they have salons all over the country that are trained to fit the wigs and cut them once they get in, i have the info on my page if you would like to check it out! but since your are in pa, if you wanted to take the drive i recommend going straight to jeffrey pauls salon!
