found out i have alopecia areata in late may and have been losing my hair very quickly. although i am currently able to cover the spots i have, i will be in need of a wig soon. any suggestions on where to start looking/what brand? i went to a store i found online near where i live, but found the prices there were almost double what they are online…..however i am nervous about purchasing my first wig online with no one on one support. any recommendations? ANY advice would be much appreciated as i am just starting out on this journey.

When I wore wigs this is the site I always went to. They sell lace wigs, I spoke to the representative named Stella and to this day, she sends me emails asking me if I need anything and how I'm doing. They are located in China but the shipping is fast and you can even negotiate a price with her. I once got a full lace 16 inch wig for $170 (high quality). Those types of wigs are usually $215-$500. If you decide to check out their website, go to contact us and look for Stella's email.

All the best
Please check out www.wigsupport.com and to get help with how to wear wigs; put on/wash/style etc have a look at www.wigsbypattispearls.com Patti is just wonderful and has lots of videos, she is very upbeat and inspiring.

Once you get info you can order a wig online quite cheaply rather than going to a shop.

Even though the suggestion of wig support site will help you with synthetic wig choices and process hair choices, I'm afraid they don't know about all wigs that are available for you.

I would recommend that you work out what your needs are at the moment...what do you need a wig to do for you...how do you want it to look... what are some of the things that are worrying you etc.  Write a list with your needs on it and then post it here as many will be able to guide you with their experience.

Take care
