I'd like to hear how people manager their wigs or scarves with a mandatory hat or visor?   My family's having some financial issues and our new area in which we live is extremely limited for employment.  I am possibly going to be picking up a second job at a nearby coffee shop or restaurant - all of which have uniforms where staff wear a hat with a hair net.    I've pondered to myself - what do other people with alopecia do?   I think wearing a wig would drive me nuts at work but in all my life I've never see a person working wearing a scarf plus a cap.  I'm curious what others do .   I'm going to just tell the managers too , about my alopecia. I don't want to be forced to wear a wig and a cap at work, either. Seems silly to put a hair net on a wig when my wig doesn't shed and I'm bald!   But, I'm sure it will be mandatory.   I can picture someone nudging me and knocking off my hat and the wig at the same time!

Any experiences to share?

Maybe you can wear a scarf that is the same color as the caps or even matches the uniform.  When you talk to the boss about your AA, ask if the above might be a viable solution for your dilemna.

I agree, a scarf would be easiest in this case. It will take some getting used to as it will shift on your head during work but it’s always trial and error until you find what works best for you personally.

A little double stick tape does wonders.
