It's Hair Loss Support At Its Best™
I've noticed that my synthetic wig never smells "clean" the way that my natural hair smelled after I shampooed. I'm using an unscented wig shampoo specifically for synthetic wigs. If I wear it for more than one day without washing in between, I feel like it smells dirty (even if I hadn't gotten sweaty- gone to the gym, etc). Does anyone else have this problem? What did you do to fix it? Thanks!

I keep my wigs on a stand in my closet, and even if I don't wear them, it helps to rinse them before I wear then. I had almost given up on one of my synthetics, but after I rinsed it, it moved and shone again. My human hair wig needs once a week washing if I wear it. The dust and dirt from the street gets to the hair. I live in the city, I'm sure that will make a difference.
I have to say, I don't like the smell of synthetics at all. The cheaper ones smells worse. I wash them in detergent for fine fabrics and condition with fabric softener. That does give a fresher smell to them. My human hair wig smells divine.
P.s. synthetics don't absorb shampoo, it's actually just the surface that is cleaned when washing. I guess that's why the smell doesn't linger as long as on human hair, which is porous.
