Presidents proposed cuts to the National Institute of Health (NIH)

We can talk all day long about this condition, but until we start to call our legislators and tell them that these proposed cuts are unacceptable we are all going to be waiting a lot longer for the cure. The NIH is the agency that gets its money from the government and then doles it out to those that are conducting research for our condition as well as other Autoimmune diseases. This is the worst news we could ever hear. Please pick up your phone and call your local legislators office and tell them to stop these cuts. We are getting closer and closer to understanding this condition and hopefully a way to grow our hair back. If we sit this one out on the side lines we are not going to see the research progress. Not only will it not progress those scientist will leave their jobs for other places in the world that see the importance of medical research. This is truly the most upsetting thing I have heard in a long time. Call now and tell them how these cuts will impact you and those you love.

All of the medical research is going to be hit hard if we do not rise up and contact our government officials. This is the most important issue for Alopecians, note the most discussed issue on AW is Xelijanz and here we are ignoring the fact that without money for research we are going to be talking about wigs, our sadness, how to deal with bully's etc.  for the rest of our lives. I do not know about all of you, but I would like to talk about new medications are coming to market, their success and how we are all growing our hair back and that aint going to happen till we start making the calls and writing those letters. I try to make a call or write an email everyday to my legislators. We must stop the cuts to medical research which improve our lives not spend money on ways to destroy lives.
