Hi Friends,

I just watched some of Molly Vezquez's youtube videos and am intrigued by her nutritional treatment and hair regrowth.  Anyone tried her technique and recipes.  The whole healing from within makes total sense to me, so that is why I'm on the Paleo Approach right now. I feel amazing and have even lost 6 pounds without ever being hungry. Still no new hair growth as a matter of fact I'm still losing eyelashes and eyebrows. ARGH!!!    Molly's diet is quite different from the Paleo diet, I believe.  Penny for your thoughts...

Thanks!

I really don't believe Alopecia is a nutritional issue. As far as Molly's YouTube videos, I think it is more of a money making scheme than a solution to our problem.

I know if I found a solution to alopecia I would gladly share with others. It is shameful that some try and make money off of people's desperation to find a cure. Even on this forum, we have a member that is trying to profit from something they got for free.

I think we need to stick with proven treatments like Xeljanz and whatever might be coming in the future. Also best to go through a doctor and pharmacy and avoid black market buying of medication which may or may not be real.

It can't hurt to eat healthy, exercise and think positive though.  No side effects with this protocol unlike Xeljanz and other drugs.  Right?

I agree with eating healthy and exercise but highly doubt it will cure alopecia. Still it is a good idea.

Have you tried total diet for a 10 days not eating nothing only drinking water?

Yikes ! I don't think I can go a day without eating something much less 10 days. I would think that kind of crash diet is not all that healthy.

There is on curative  the guys and girls made said they resolved a lot of patology...if you go in youtube you'll meet a lot of videos about it.They only take water for a lot of days then eat anly vegetables

Veronesi in Italy(the director of cancer  istitute ) said to not eat a day every week (for him it helps the body and stop inflammation and other bad things...I do not know if it's good, before i  only read bad things about to not eat...

Hi, I will look at Molly Vezquez videos. I am also on Sarah Ballantyne's Paleo Approach for 7 months now....I have frontal fibrosiing alopecia. I have continued to loose hair. Just recently I see hair regrowth at my hairline and I am encouraged. It may stop and all go backwards but I continue forward. This diet approach is thoughtful and makes a lot of sense personally and scientifically. I am so grateful for Sarah and all that she is doing. Good luck and keep at it.......I will continue until my hair loss stops..........

As for those that say this is not a nutritional issue....they do not have the information about autoimmune conditions and the effect of leaky gut and food sensitivities and how that affects our system.......

I agree with you, I have Sarah Ballantyne's Paleo AIP book and all the science does make sense. I have yet to try the diet because I am so  over whelmed by the amount of time and money that would need to be put into it. I feel like sometimes people think I sound desperate or naïve when I talk about the AIP and how my diet and lifestyle can potentially heal my immune disorder. It does not help that the science is hard to explain to people who are unfamiliar. I feel like you have nothing to lose health wise going this route unlike some traditional medicine that comes with all the risky side effects. However, I do believe everyone's bodies are different so what works for some might not work for others.

So true!  Like you it's hard to explain the AIP diet and my lunch bunch friends think I'm a total wacko when they see what I bring for lunch.  I don't even care though.  The diet is intense but it's not impossible.  Hang in there and take baby steps getting started.  My husband has been eating what I fix and he's lost weight too.  He cannot give up grains though.  I feel so much better and that makes it easier to follow.  I'm in this for the long haul trying whatever it takes to get my hair to grow back. ugh

My husband eats everything that I make and then he has whatever else he wants...but, he loves the food I am making. I have found the food and recipes to be different and so very deeeelish. It takes concentration and a lot of time but eventually you figure it out and it becomes second nature and the bonus is you feel so very good and eat amazing food! So come on hair.........stay with me!!!!!!

I have been following the AIP diet for about 3 months and am starting to feel a bit optimistic as I am having a bit of growth.  I also suffer from IBS and this diet has been magic for that.  I think for me the IBS connection has made it much easier for me to stick to the rules - I really can't believe how much better I feel.  I also think this diet has improved my mood as I feel I am doing something positive for my body.

The diet is a lot of work but it has started to become routine and I have come to love a lot of the recipes I have learned.

If you are concerned about trying some of the drugs out there this is a good option but don't look for quick results.
