The thing I hate the most about this disease is no one has any answers!!! I was diagnosed two weeks ago tomorrow. I have been on an emotional rollercoaster since!! My biggest question is how much hair am I going to lose. I went to a dermatologist yesterday and she did say I have ssome regrowth starting in some patches, which is encouraging, but I also have some spots that are not showing any regrowth. As of now I'm giving a new meaning to the combover look. Lol. As fast as my hair is falling out I'm scare this AA may turn into AT or AU. I wish there was a way to tell. My dermatologist took a biopsy out of one of my spots in the back of my head, so I'm hoping they can get some answers for me!!! I've cut my long hair to help put less strain on it, this just all around sucks, but its nice to have found a community where people know how I feel. I see several people start with AA and end up with AT or AU. I'm curiosity as to how fast that happened for y'all??

Hi doll, I was diagnosed to weeks ago you can see photos of my first spot , my dr gave me cortizone cream that I have used once and it burned and I got a severe headache .
I'm getting another spot in the front at the hairline.
My job just switched to led lights so I just wear a hat because it burns so much.
Do you have the burning as well.

My dr wants me to do cortisone shots I won't do it.
Much love dear.
I have the same question about that too
I guess everyone is different.
I do not want to do the cortizone shots. I was given clobetasol propionate topical solution. (A steroid solution) It does burn when I put it on my bald spots. I have the hot spot sensation throughout my hair on a daily basis, which scares me because when I feel relief of the hotspots a new bald spot has appeared. The dermatologist I saw yesterday told me to take 3000-5000 mg of.biotin, start a multivitamin with minerals and be sure I am getting protein 3 times a day. I do know a girl who has received the shots and while her hair seems to have stopped falling out she is not seeing any regrowth. I'm scared the shots can cause damage to your hair follicles where the hair wont be able to grow back. There's just too much that is not known that makes this so frustrating!!!
I have posted some pictures as to how mine has progressed but I'm not sure if they've been approved by admin.
