Well I FINALLY took the plunge and just shaved the head this morning.
I've been dropping the hints to people all week, getting them ready for my new look ;)

I have to be honest, it takes years off me! Grey patchy hair all gone, I feel like a new (bald) man.

Wish me luck, I'm hitting the town :)

Sorry folks - posted this in the wrong section....any mods on here fancy moving it to an appropriate place?
Good Luck Greg! keep us posted!
Well that was easy....2 reasons:

(1) People don't care half as much as you think they do about how you look

(2) There's a National Radio station doing a shave your head for charity campaign, people probably thought I did it for charity (which in hindsight I probably should have!)

Anyway, continuing my "jumping in the deep end" I'm off to the pub tonight to amuse my friends :)
How cool. Glad to hear you pulled it off without too much trauma. We knew you could do it.

Have a good time at the pub. Have a pint or a shot of something for us. ;)
Congratulations on your bold move
Hi Greg,

Good Luck!!
From what I remember, it all went swimmingly ;)
Well, the final hurdle just completed.
I'm at my desk with my new no-hairdo.

Top tip for anyone worried about the workplace "first day reveal". Get in before everyone else, so you don't have to see everyone at the same time. I was in 30 minutes early and had time to see everyone coming in, and deal with the reactions one at a time, not as a group.

I'd told a few colleagues on Friday to expect some hair changes, and that helped too.

So that's it, all done and I feel liberated!

I also feel a little bit like Lex Luther. World domination awaits.

Thanks for all the supportive comments, it was nice being able to "report in" over the last few days.
Hey Lex! I mean Greg.

I hope things went well for you. I'm excited to hear how it went. Just keep in mind that in every area of the world, there will be at least one jerk. So keep you head up high and love your self every step of the way. Remember you have a big family here. :-)
Wow great news Greg! Congrats!
I am struggling so hard to do the deed that you seem to have pulled off so easily.
Every mens balding site says that it is so freeing and a complete end to the hairloss problem yet I have battled trying to get there for 6 months now but just cannot pull the trigger. I almost want to go seek a therapist for assistance in finding out why this has stopped me from enjoying life and isolating so much.

I will get there hopefully but just wanted to say congrats to you.
Hi Jim,

I just reached the point where I looked more ridiculous with hair than without.
I got fed up waiting for my last few bits to fall out so just went for it.

If it's any help at all to you, I did lay some plans before doing it:

I told a few colleagues and friends what I was going to do.
I went straight out (pub/shopping centre/gym/family) after doing it.
Got into work early on the Monday and spoke openly and with a smile to anyone that asked (out of 180 people, 3 asked if I was ok - indicating the general level of interest in my hair or lack thereof was way lower than I thought!).

Now I am still getting used to my new "self" in the mirror, but you know what? It's not a bad look!

Jump in feet first Jim and post your progress on this site, it was a real help being able to post here (for the good days and the bad days when this all started).

Best of luck whatever you decide to do......
Greg
