My wife has alopecia and it has since progressed to the full universalisis. Complete hair loss all over her body.  I want to help her get her confidence back and keep her from sinking deeper and deeper into a depressed state.  My question is How will they allow her to get the medicine if she has no prescription from her Doctor? And if the Doctor refuses to give her the prescription.  We have been researching this pill since 2013 and would really like to try it to see if it will work.

My dermatologist prescribed it.....try yours or several...in fact maybe call the offices staff first to ask if the doctors will prescribe it for her AU (I have AU also)....

Thank you for your reply.  Has it helped you?

Well I am just doing the cream, have not started yet, for my eyebrows only........

prescribed Tofacitinib

Thank you

I would recommend that your wife ask her dermatologist to prescribe the Xeljanz. My derm offered it to me but I have not yet opted to take it. I would imagine even though it is primarily prescribed for RA, if any doctor prescribes it, it should be covered under insurnce plans. Good luck.

Thank you
