This year in February, I had a biopsy done and was told I had citricial alopecia. I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right. It is when we use relaxers on our hair without using protection for the scalp.The scalp is burned and the hair follicles are destroyed along with inflammation that forms scarring on the scalp. Another term is scarring alopecia which is mostly found in women of color or African Americans .I' am African American and have been suffering with this disease for over ten years. I have been using the hair ointment they prescribed for me with no results.so I discontinued using it. I also had a injection in my scalp which made me cry, so I did not continue that. I have not found any thing that works yet so I continue to pray and ask for guidance to what will bring me and many others relief and happiness. I will always do research and try attend clinical trials when they are available. Please let me know of any success or trials that are local.
