I struggle with doing makeup, but I'm one of those types of females that likes to do just her eyebrows and eyeliner, besides that of course, I wear very little/no makeup at all.

I always find it hard to do my eyeliner though, mostly because I don't have eyelashes at all. Sometimes I have small thin blonde ones that show up, then fall out. My problem is though that when I do my eyeliner, it always looks so, I don't know how else to describe it, but it looks unprofessional because of how "thick" it seems and how the wings look like branches. In other words, I suck at doing my eyeliner because everytime I do it, it looks terrible. It's so bad, I don't even like doing my eyeliner for interviews because I feel it'll lessen my chances.

I've thought about false eyelashes, BUT I tried them before a long time ago and I don't know how to do those either.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to better do my eyeliner so it looks not only more professional, but also reflects my age in a more proper way (btw, I'm 21 soon to be 22).

What is the best technique of eyeliner to use? I currently use the brush and eyeliner cream in a little itty bitty container technique. I've also tried an eyeliner pencil and the "mechanical" twist up style as well. I always find that those kinds smear easily or don't last even 2 hours.

What is the best brand to use, one that is long lasting, one that works great for those who have no eyelashes? (I always find that most smear off my eyes because i don't have eyelashes).

Should I try false eyelashes again in hopes I wont do my eyeliner anymore?

As a girl with so many limited things to do to make myself feel feminine, makeup is one of these things I like to do. I obviously don't have hair I can curl, wash, style, color, etc. so makeup makes up for that (no pun intended). Not to mention, it's hard to even find any youtube channels/videos that do cover eyeliner for alopecia/etc. patients. Thanks in advance for any input! :)

I have AU so know the trials of eye makeup. No lashes to use as a guide for liner or false eyelashes.

I've tried many brands and kinds of eyeliner and find that I like Make Up Forever Aqua Liner (its a liquid) - not the pencil or the long, thin brush ones. It goes on easy and stays on all day.

You might want to go to a store like Dillards that does makeovers, or check out a place like Ulta to have one of their cosmetics gals work with you to teach you how to apply eyeliner.

unfortunately im in such a small city in the UP of Michigan that we don't have anything like that around. I only know 2 other people locally that have Alopecia (my oldest sister and a woman I know fro my work place) so i dont have a lot of connections around where i live

Hello, I'm 24 and lost it all when I was 21. I've never been a very big makeup person myself so I've mostly learned everything just out of trial and error but I feel like I have my makeup routine down pretty good now. I mainly just do eyebrows and eyeliner. I do like wearing eyeshadow though because I feel like it blends the liner in better. Over the past year I started getting my eyelashes back and I personally think it was easier doing the liner without them, nothing to get in the way. If you feel like it's too thick, which I can understand because I do that myself sometimes, try just sticking to tightlinning, there are many YouTube videos if you don't already know how. I feel that a very thin eyeliner looks way better. I typically use a more natural charcoal or brown first then go over it with a very very very thin tipped felt liner.
As for my brows, I use Anastasia brow dip pomade and any type of powder (very lightly). I don't actually need the powder but I feel like it smooths things out (any mistakes). I specifically use a no named brand hair loss powder, very cheap, it comes in a small square. Because of its actual intention, it stays on forever.... My eyebrows are pretty solid too, I've run multiple races, participated in the tough mudder, swim, beach, everything and they stay put.

I never thought about doing a brown for eyeliner, or something thats not black. I feel like a thinner liner too makes me look more proper, sophisticated? i guess i would use to describe it? Like, if I go to an interview, I try to do a thinner line, always ends up looking thick and then I feel like Im going to look improper for an interview (most times I end up not doing liner because of how unprofessional I think it makes me look during it). I will definitely check out a color other than black though. I never even thought to.

For my eyebrows, I just use Maybelline? eyebrow pencils, they dont last long as the pencil unforutnately so I constantly buy new ones. As for the length my eyebrows last depend on how much I sweat throughout the day. If I start looking oily, I can definitely notice that my brows start looking smeared. I've tried eyebrow tint pens too (Milani brand, don't have much for choice of makeup in the area of where i live). I'm not even joking when I say this, but I have thought about trying out a brown permanent marker (fine tipped of course) just to see if they'll last longer and not look smeary throughout the daily wear.

I wish I could get mine tattooed, or even microbladed, but I can't afford either, so I resort to drawing them on everyday.

And I'm in such a small place I've never heard of that studio. We have one lady who does specialize in wigs and such, but she caters more to older women. Besides that, there arent any makeup studios around here. What I would like to find is a pencil, or liner or something that lasts longer than a day though. I've even tried temporary tattoos for eyebrows and they only lasted a day. I'm not even joking when I say this, but I've been highly considering trying a permanent marker, just maybe once, just to see if it would work better than a brow liner pencil.

I'm still trying to get it down, all have good tips here. I found helpful watching You Tube vids, since I'm more visual person and some of the people are really wonderful with alocepia on it too. Like this lady's channel 'HairEscape" :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSCFFalRMRI  Brows there is a product called Wunderbrow I got on Amazon around $22 thats water proof and last all day. And Wet and Wilds liquid liner for eyes. Lashes I've kinda given up, they seem to fall off and are spendy. But I may try again for big events, etc. I think it takes a lot of practice and sometimes just have hard days, I always have makeup remover and q-tips close by and agree brown shades are more forgiving when too much and natural looking. Are there any beauty schools in the area? If so maybe could go and they have fun with you. Best
