I would like to tell you al my story and I hope that it can help those who are questioning if there is the right person who will love you for who you are without hair.

Hi I am Connie and this year in September I will become 56 year. My first experience with AA was when I was 17 years. After a few months I regained my hair and I was sooo happy. In 1987 it came back. Starting with bald spots and getting worse by the day and my hair never grew back on.

In 2011 I met my husband by a dating site called Relatieplanet. And he tried 3 times to set a date with me but 3 times I pulled back from our date because I had my shares of dissapointments and thought that nobody would love me.

Finally we made the date,  he never gave up, and at that date I instantly felt in love.

We had the click and liked each other instantly.

He works offshore so after two week we had our second date. At that date in my kitchen I told him about my Alopecia Areata and he cried. I was surprised of his tears. WHY do you cry I asked him.

He felt so sorry for me, but he didn’t mind my hair problem. Right away he told me that he was a diabetic and living with a diabetic could be hard. Then I cried… felt so sorry for him. But we didn’t mind we liked each other so that this was peanuts for us.

He moved in with me a few months later and sold his house. We were sure of our love.

That year our first holiday was at Zakynthos Greece and for the first time in 27 years I could swim in the sea, snorkeling under water without my wig on. For the first time in 27 years I felt the sun on my ( white) head and felt the wind blowing. I was the luckiest woman in the world all because of him!

He encourage me every time to put of my wig and give me the feeling that I am beautiful, he tells me all the time when he sees how insecure I am. He makes  me a stronger woman.

In 2012 we went to Egypt and there I could lay in the sun and swim and snorkeling in the sea without my wig, he went to the hairdresser to shave his head and then we both were bald. When he came back and saw what he did I had a smile as big as whole Egypt. It feld so good that he did that for me.

Two years ago he went on his knees and asked me to marry him and so we did in October 5th ( 05.10.2015)

How lucky can a woman get? A man by her side who accepts her with her bald head?

I'm happy for you both. Opposite from my experience. But it's good to hear some of us find love.
