I suffer from androgenic alopecia. It seem to be genetic and is caused by an excess of testosterone in females.



Not really treatable with oestrogen or hormone-antagonists.



I am not a doctor but have been involved with so many issues around this topic that I will give you my opinion. I think that androgenic alopecia is genetic and my mother in law had this and my daughter developed AU at 22. I know that excess of testosterone can cause hair thinning for women but I do not believe it is the root of Androgenic Alopecia. I think it is just a autoimmune condition.
