For several months now I have noticed I dont really ever get a full blown cold or flu. I will have days of waves of feeling viral-y (my word) hot and cold, achy, tired, sometimes exhausted. But not like years ago when Id get a cold and be really sick for several days then fine.

These waves will go on for several days, and then I will either get fully better or it will linger and eventually fade away. Or I amy have about one day of full symptoms then be fine.

Does anyone else have anything similar happen to them? Im wondering if it isnt caused by my immune system being on overdrive. Or maybe my immune system gets down and I begin to get sick and the waves are just it fighting it off.

I dont know.

I asked my GP whether I should still get a flu vaccination every winter now I am autoimmune, I was scared my immune system is already in overdrive and I did not want to stimulate it further. My GP said that now my immune system is having problems I should definitely get all my shots BUT I see a medical herbalist and her advice was that I don't keep having all my shots, I usually keep everything up to date; yellow fever, diptheria etc.. In case I need them for holidays outside of Europe. I instinctively feel it is best I only get a shot if absolutely necessary. I agree with you my colds seem less than in the past. Something in my body has changed.

I used to suffer terribly with colds & sore throats. Since the alopecia (AU) back in 2005, I can't remember having a single day off work with a virus. I've often thought there might be a link.

I have these as well, I also have a great experience directly related to what your talking about if youd like to hear it P/M me for the details, then i could share it openly till then. Richard
