Hey everyone, I hope all are doing well. Let me introduce myself, I am Jaseem and have been carrying a world map (Jk, its.. wait for it... Alopecia) on my head for the past 12-13  years or so, i have lost count of the actual Years(sigh). Anyway i am 25, Indian by origin and born and brought up in the Middle east, U.A.E to be specific. I have learned to accept what i have but we always have our issues, dont we? Anyway coming back to it, i started loosing my hair on my body at first, but being a kid and the hair being body hair i never noticed it in the beginning at first it was thinning of my hair on my Arms, maybe legs too but then i never bothered to see the beautiful hair on my legs at the time, although if i knew i was going to loose it i would have back then i guess. So yeah, my hairs on some parts of my arms began to become thin and lost the pigmentation making it slightly gold. Being a kid i thought OMG i am having golden hairs, hurraaaahh. lol. Little did i know it was something else entirely, then maybe after a few months i went for a hair cut and the barber told me i had a patch on my head, told my dad, went to a doctor, got steroid injections, it came back and all was well for a few months after which it happened again and my parents wanted to try other treatments other than steroids cause they were scared of needles more than me. And I lost all my hair in the process. And i quickly began to accept i might not have hair again. I was not the type of guy who would do anything to get the hair back, no, i hated having to apply oils, and ointments and lotions and eating tablets. I am not a fan of Doctors and their prescriptions really. So i left it at that, although i did try doing the steroid injections a couple of years back, simply cause my Girlfriend at the time told me to try it. But then again i grew tired of it and stopped it. Now, recently, a have been starting to notice that the hair that i lost on my body, same patch like as in Alopecia Areata, on my arms and legs are slowly growing back, i can see that i have more hair on my body than i used to and i am not taking any treatments whatsoever. Also the hair on my head, i can see i have tiny thinned non pigmented hair growing almost everywhere. Again, no treatments? But now that i am seeing some change, which actually isnt much have made me to wonder if anything like this has happened to any of you ? Have any of you got their hair back without any treatments, after having it for such a long period as me ?
Please feel free to give your biased opinion, i would love some participation of you lot.

Thanks for Reading, and Nice to meet you all.

Ps. I am not much of a writer and wrote this in a hurry, i am pretty sure there will be grammatical errors or things that i missed simply cause i am lazy to read and go through it all again, so please ignore/mention/ask anything that i need to add or subtract. Ill add pics maybe tomorrow if you guys want to see my beautiful face. ;)

hi Jaseem,
your situation is very common. you could have AA/AT/AU for 10 years and suddenly everything will grow back. sometimes it's just a small regrowth and sometimes it's complete.

don't want to sound like the party pooper but take in consideration that most of the time even with regrowth if u had the disease for 10 years there is a big chance of relapse.

dude you should post a pic, reading your thread was cool.
