hello

I'm a french Vet et have the same story with my 20 year old son....

It's really sad as a parent to watch the anxiety ones child goes thru and there is nothing you can do to help. I cannot belief that with all the technology we have that there is still nothing that can be done to stop the hairloss.

I've watched my son go from an outgoing student to a recluse playing online games all day.

We live in South Africa, have been to specialists and general practitioners, nobody seems to specialise in alopecia here.

Chére Marc, Je regret mon études français enable me to understand most of what you said, but not to respond adequately in your native tongue. Welcome to Alopecia World et Bon Chance! Although I am in the U.S., I agree that, for me, Xeljanz seems too dangerous, and I would rather live with alopecia than risk my health by undergoing an experimental and expensive treatment.
I am a 25 female with total alopecia lost the majority of it within 2 months. Unfortuntaly I am newly diagnosed so not much advice to offer. It has been a truly devastating experience for me but I have to say everyday does get better. I am an RN who works with cancer patients and felt like this was the worst possible thing that could happen (although I know its not). My recommendation is to dermatologist shop and find someone who specializes. Although most treatments didn't work for me I have heard them work with many others. Best of luck to your son. Let him know he is not alone . telling him to join this support forum might offer some help for him.

Thank you all for your comments, they are all really appreciated. I wish you all the very best. Everyday I try to get more insight into what my son is going thru. All I can do is love him and give him my total support in trying to live with this. xx

salut
