I have been taking Humira for Crohns since last spring. I went from being completely bald for 6 years to this! I have the most hair on the left side of my head. Humira is an immunosupressant, and it is definitely helping keep the Crohns in remission. The eyebrows, eyelashes and scalp hair growth are a bonus!

I'm doing the same thing you're doing.  I have to start on Humira first, and I've been on it since the end of May 2018.  I recently switched Rheumies and I hope the new one will put me on Xeljanz because studies have shown Xeljanz works for RA and Alopecia, so I'm hoping all things go well for me

Hi Susan...I enjoyed reading your posts. hope all is well with you.

hello aimee....just wondering how you are doing..recently read through your posts but they were from back in 2016. Hope all is well and your Crohns is under control and new hair growth!

I am getting ready to start Humira in a few days for my RA and I'm hoping that since its a biologic it'll help with hair growth for my AU, which I've had over 30 years

How's the Humira? My insurance denied my doctor's request for Xeljanz. So I have to take MTX or Humira now (also have RA/PsA). For some reason both these drugs scare me!! ;)

So far, I have taken 2 injections.  You dont even feel it, like seriously, you wont even know you injected yourself.  I haven't felt any major differences yet, except my skin is feeling super soft, I guess I have to give it time to start working.  My insurance also denied the Xeljanz but something tells me that is going to change very soon and insurance companies will start to allow it for treatment

Maybe I'll give it a try! I was a little freaked out when I read that Humira can cause alopecia, but I already have it anyway (AU for 10 years). haha! :D Have you also tried MTX?

I've had AU for almost 30 years and I did take MTX for almost a year and nothing, so I'm hoping Humira will work better since its a biologic and directly affects the immune system by suppressing it

Thank you for your quick reply! Good luck to us both! :)

No problem, my pleasure and YES, good luck to us BOTH:)!!
