It's Hair Loss Support At Its Best™
Can anybody tell me if I will definitely lose my eyebrows and lashes. I started with alopecia in my beard about 4 months ago. My beard is gone now along with about 50% of my hair.

It's a waiting game really for you now. As it's not upto you if you're gonna lose them or not. You may lose your eyebrows and lashes or you may not. I lost all my head hair within 10 days and was told by my dermatologist that I 'probably' wouldn't lose my brows n lashes. I lost all of them though! It's been tough and weird getting used to seeing yourself without these. You don't realise how much your brows n lashes frame your face until they are gone. However on a positive note Carl.... since the end of October my lashes have slowly come back in and my brows now have a bit of hair too :) I'm hoping that they will stay :)
Stay strong and try and remain as positive as possible. There are so many good people on here that will give you excellent support and advice..
Permalink Reply by Carl on January 16, 2012 at 2:40pm Thank you RiRi and Sho for that. Im not so bothered about my hair and beard. A bloke can always get away with the bald look. Boy! its got to be difficult for you ladies though. Its Summer here at the moment so my head and face are colouring up ok. But I know if I lose my brows n lashes Its going to change my face completely. Oh well. Shall wait and see. I hope they keep growing for you Sho.
I am curious as to if you used any sort of treatment to grow your eyelashes and eyebrows?

Permalink Reply by Carl on April 2, 2012 at 3:50am Thanks for that. Iv been shaving my head since xmas. My brows and lashes had been ok until about a month ago. My brows are almost gone now and I noticed a load of lashes missing above my right eye. I have to say that losing my eyebrows has had a bigger effect on me than losing my hair. Its changed my face completely. I always told myself that I would never consider false eyebrows.. But Im not so sure now and Im researching it. How long is it since your alopecia started?? How did it start for you??
Permalink Reply by april on April 10, 2012 at 10:31pm I have had spots for 8 years. Been chasing them around with steroid injections. I could no longer keep up and in Oct., lost it all. Within a couple weeks, I also lost all my eyebrows/lashes. With summer coming on, I am trying to get the nerve up to go without hats that I normally wear. I have to say, loosing my lashes was really hard. I have always worn make-up and I miss my eyelashes. There really are many issuses we encounter but I try to be thankful that this is a cosmetic issue and at least I am healthy. I would be lying if I said this was easy though. On the bright side, I save a lot of money in high-lights, shampoo, shaving gel, razors, etc..
