It's Hair Loss Support At Its Best™
I can deal with not having hair for the most part but I'm extremely self concious about not having eyebrows and want to get them tattooed. I draw them myself really good no one knows they are fake but because of the job I have they tend to wear off rather quickly. I was wondering if anyone has done it and what their response was, did it hurt real bad does it age well does it look natural etc. I appreciate the feed back.

Permalink Reply by wendizzle on February 9, 2012 at 11:23pm I agree-the eyebrow thing is the hardest for me to deal with, too. I'm torn because it's fun to do different colors and shaped every day, but it gets tedious. And I wish my husband could see me with a face I'm comfortable with when we wake up in the morning.
Hi!
I´ve done it and it´s so worth it. It looks natural but you have to find out a good studio. Now days they can do it in 3d so it looks like real hair. With time it blends so you have to fix them every second year or so. It didn´t hurt that bad, and you can use numbing cream before you go there. Do it!!!!:)

I know how frustrating drawing on your eyebrows is as I did it for the first three or four years that I had alopecia. However I did come across a website years ago that makes temporary tattoo eyebrows...you put them on in the morning and they last all day. I've never had a problem with them and they have helped me immensely. They come in all different shapes and colors so there is a large variety to choose from. I'll post the website for you too look at as well. :)

I thought I drew mine very well until I met my tattooist. A good one should be able to design the brows to fit your face. The right brows for you can also make you look younger :)
Lots of Asians (without alopecia) get their eyebrows tattooed, eyeliner and lips too! So it wasn't hard for me to find someone. Can try asking your Asian friends lol. Oh and I actually get compliments on my eyebrow these days - kinda cool!
Permalink Reply by D'Arcie Hall on February 12, 2012 at 10:45am I am 17 and have had Alopecia for 6 years. For the first couple of years I didn't draw my eyebrows on or anything but when I started to it was unbelievable the difference it makes to your appearance! I started to use these eyebrows which were like stencils that you had to place on your eyebrows, hold a wet towel on the area for a minute and peel it off which would then leave the shape of the eyebrows. These were quite good at the time but only lasted a couple of days and could easily rub off. I then decided to get them tattooed and it is the best thing I could ever have had done! no worrying about whether they are going to rub off when you have an itch or anything. The first time I have them done they didn't hurt, but the second time they did hurt a little, but I did have numbing cream put on before hand. Mine look very natural as single strokes were used to make it look more like strands of hair. So cutting the story short, I would strongly advise you to get them done! haha
Permalink Reply by cadane on February 12, 2012 at 1:27pm The loss of my eyebrows and eyelashes is always what bothers me the most too. Sheila May with Sheila May Permanent Makeup is really good, and I've had her tattoo my brows and eyeliner. I didn't think the brows hurt much at all. I need to get my brows touched up, has been six years. Sheila has an office in Pacific Palisades, CA, and usually only does a couple of sessions during the year. If you want her contact info, just let me know.
Yes, I have got mines 8 months ago and I am very happy with them. The first drawing session did not really hurt. The second one did and I had red skin around the eyebrows for a week. It seems that I was tired that second time. But anyway, happy to have them when swimming, sweating, touching my face,... and they have been drawed at a better place than nature did... good experience.
Hi Molly
I had my eyebrows, top liner and eyeliner done about 1 year ago. I love it. When I first left the office I was looking crazy, but after the swelling, I look gorgeous from the time I wake up in the morning. It makes handling the bald head so much easier because I now I have enhanced my other features.
Thanks for letting me share
Permalink Reply by Susan P aka DGADBS on February 15, 2012 at 11:05am I had mine done last year and I love them. I does hurt a bit but it's brief and so much worth it as I wasn't too good at drawing them on and I often would rub them off by the end of the day. They do have to be touched up as they tend to fade over time but mine are still fine for now.
