Hello Lovely Lovelies!

For anyone who is also without eyebrow and eyelashes....does any one have any great makeup or beauty solutions they would like to share?

I draw in my eye brows and have found it really not very noticeable that its not hair. But with the eyelashes thats hard. I feel self conscious that whenever anyone is looking at me all they see is that I have no eyebrows or eyelashes. I have noticed this is causing me to look away, not make eye contact and move my conversations on really quick.

Has anyone else felt this way...any tips on ways to feel less insecure about my eyebrow and eyelash less face?

Thanks for reading :)

i think it is the Freedom wig site that has a full demonstration of how best to apply make up for those with no eyebrows or lashes. I agree.. making the brows is the easy part. When I lost my eyelashes, I was SO self conscious. I was sure everyone was wondering what is wrong with her face? Since then, I have met several Alopecians with AU and am quite impressed with how they do make up around their eyes to make up for no lashes. For some odd reason, my lashes grew back, although the hairs are baby fine. you make the best of what you have. do look people in the eye and smile. our own uncomfortableness is our worst enemy. people pick up on that. I also got permanent make up on my eyebrows. LOVE IT! no pain whatsoever. Hope this helps.

Thank you Rose :)

Hi KStew

I think Rose is talking about the newlife website. Karen Peterik has a really good make dvd on her site, extremely helpful for those without eyelashes or brows.

When my daughter looses her brows she chooses to wear hairy type stick on eyebrows. If you go to my page you will see a photo of her (close-up) with them on. In the photo she has just come out of swimming in the sea. They are another good option.

If I can help with any further info just pop in and say hi.

You are right Rose Marie. Thank you. I found the link again, and it was new life. I've never tried the hairy stick on eyebrows. I'm going to go loook at your page now. Thanks again.

Thank You too Rose Marie - These are really helpful ideas.

Hi All,

Not sure where you live....I live in Toronto Canada. I have AU...lost by brows and lashes this past November. The make-up artists at MAC cosmetics are awesome...very creative and sensitive... They make a great eye brow pencil. I tend to go heavier on the eye liner and shadow to compensate for the lack of lashes. I also wear glasses which helps.

for now it works....

what pencil from MAC do you get? doe it look natural?

I hide behind my glasses. I use the brow kit from Benefit. I have white/blonde eyebrow hair and its turns it brown. I even post close up pictures of my eyes on my instagram and fb and no one has noticed. In fact, I've been asked by people what I use to fill in my eyebrows (no one really knows about my AU). And I have some eyelashes but with eyeliner and hiding behind my glasses you really can't tell.

Beautiful eyes! Do you have fake lashes in that picture? or do you still have all your natural lashes?

in the picture i'm wearing falsies. at that times i had very few natural eyelashes. but now i have almost all my eyelashes back. they're short but they're coming back!

and thank you so much you're too kind

Wow MaddiBoo!!! beautiful job on both eyebrows and lashes. your eyebrows are great. so you do not have permanent make up on eyebrows? your white/blonde eyebrow hairs are that thick? GOOD FOR YOU!

Thank you!!

Nope no permanent makeup! I use Benefit eyebrow wax so it catches on to the white hair and makes it look like I just have thinning eyebrows (I'll take that) and then I just put brown and black powder over it and it looks ok in my opinion.

I am gonna give them some time and see if they grow back on their own since I do have a bunch of oddly placed dark hairs.

Fingers crossed!
