So a friend of mine told me she knew someone who's daughter had alopecia and everyday this lady would have her daughter play in the sun for a bit to help her hair grow. Then my friend said she saw the little girl 3 years later with a full head of hair. I'm just wondering has anyone else tried sitting in the sun or heard of it helping? I've been sitting in the sun the past few days as a start..

I think this is such a weird disease and every single person has a different story but it's entirely possible. I walk around bald and because of that I've met other people who have at one point also had AU. This one woman I met said her hair grew back after moving to Hawaii (from New England) she thought that her's had something to do with a vitamin D deficiency. I on the other hand spend all of my free time on the beach, have always, since childhood, spent all of my free time outdoors and have no hair whatsoever.
