I like many others have alopecia areata. And it seems like I'm heading to the more severe case to Alopecia Universalis AU in short amount of time. I noticed here that most people on this site have AU. When I researched the disease it says 2 to 5 percent of people with AA usually progress to AU. In your opinion, do all or most people progress from AA to AU or maybe people who haven't progressed have not joined this site?

Thanks again. Do you know why the shedding started again? Did you stop the xeljanz?
This is not 100% accurate but the youngest u get the first alopecia patch, the more chance u have to get a severe condition.
Thanks I noticed that too...I wonder why its the case. When did you first get it?
I got it at 21... 23 I became AU.
11 years later, still I don't recognize myself in the mirror. this is not me. it's a nightmare
During 21 to 23 years old was it severe spots for you? Was loss quick? I seem to have quick loss
I was 19 when AA started. And within a month it progressed to AU.
