I have multiple AA spots but one biggish one on the back of my head. My hair is naturally very dark brown but I've been keeping it bleached blonde because I feel like it disguises the spots better. Ie: no pink scalp showing through dark hair. But is this my only option? My hair is short, AA showed up after I got it cut in a pixie. I'm trying to grow it out, slowly slowly lol. I just worry that if I go back to my natural color then if even the slightest breeze blows, I will be exposed.

Last year I had a client that had an irregular bald spot on her head caused from another disorder.  Her solution was to make a pattern of the spot, then cut the same pattern out of a lace wig and tape it into the spot. I thought the piece would fall apart quickly but it did not. To do something like this you do not need an expensive lace wig, just something that is close in color and about the same length as your hair.

Hello, maybe you could go for hilites to create illusion of several colors. When I just had spots and had dark brown hair would sometimes use waterproof eyeliner to cover. Or there's kinda spendy product @ Sally's called Topix or so, is a colored powered you put on and than spray hair spray to set. Like $25. I also used hats & ask a friend what really shows that they think bother u. Sometimes I'd over do and a friend complained how long I spent on! Lol. Lace wig thing sounds good to, maybe use wig tape or with felt have heard to cover to. Best -

i had spots at the left nape, right temple, and the crown.  You are so lucky that your spot isn't large like mine.  what i wouldn't give to just have my natural hair, like yourself and just do some spot work.

those suggestions by the other posters sound like a good idea.

otherwise, if you don't want to work too hard, just put on a good lacefront wig.  I started wearing those, and never looked back.

I found a fantastic product at my local Shoppers Drug Mart.  It's in the hair colour department and it's called Toppik.  It comes in different hair colours - I use the dark brown colour and it completely hides my bald spots.  It's essentially little coloured fibres that you sprinkle on your bald spots.  It takes seconds and it works like a charm.  No worries about the wind with this stuff.  I wash is off in the shower every day and reapply.  It doesn't even get on my pillow.  It really sticks to your scalp.

I use a fill-in powder (but I think eye shadow would also work) right on my scalp and then use toppik hair fiber powder.  I try to style my hair by backcombing or teasing around the bald spots and then use the toppik and finally use hair spray.  My hair is dark brown and this hides my white / pink scalp spots from showing.
