Hi Members,

I am from India, and my 3 year old girl, has been diagnosed with alopecia. Noticed first when one of the eyebrow, had become very faint (almost invisible). Also a small bald spot at the back of the head.

My Husband and I are very worried and apprehensive about this. It will be of great help, if you guys could suggest some remedy.

Hello!

I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata at the age of 4. My parent's worried about me so much and protected me since the day my hair started falling off. They protected me so much, I became self conscious about it, to the point where I was always hiding from the truth. You can help your daughter by helping her learn to embrace Alopecia. My parents tried giving me all types of medications, creams, steroid shots, etc. We even tried home remedies. I remember us going through all of it, but my hair just kept falling off.

Being bald is a beautiful thing, and has many advantages. If she accepts the fact that she has this condition early in her life, she will learn to love and embrace having Alopecia. I wish I would have been more comfortable with it earlier in my life. I'm 31 now and can't think of a reason why I would need hair.   :)

I hope this comforts you a little, and if you need an ear to listen I'm here.

Sincerely,

Shenette
