Hi!

I have androgenetic alopecia - I am 29 years old and female. Essentially, my hair is thinning all over my part and crown of my head. Have been using men's Rogaine for a few years which has helped a bit, but it's not great.

Anyway - my question is this: A lot of advice I see talks about dyeing your hair lighter so it more closely matches your scalp (I am white and pale). But bleaching or dyeing blonde can't be good for your hair, right?

A similar question with perming - I think some of my issues could be covered up a bit more with a perm (I have chin-length hair now) but again, pretty sure it's bad for hair, especially when your hair is all thin and stringy like mine.

Any experiences with bleaching or perms?

Thanks!!

Attempting to color thin hair is risky. If it looks that thin could you consider a topper. They can cut these in a way to use the hair you have and give you a great hair day look. I suggest this before you move forward if you have to with a wig. If you take the time to read my discussion on my trip to China to find the best hair pieces for my daughter with AU it will give you an idea of how I am trying to help those out that have a form of Alopecia. Every time I can help others it brings me a sense of peace. Watching your beautiful 22 year old daughter lose her hair was devastating but now that I have found a factory that provides amazing hair pieces of all kinds I have found a way to deal with this very sad time in my life. My email is Georged5050@gmail.com. Let me know if I may help you. All my best Lisa
