Hello All

I wanted to share some of my experiences online because when I first started losing my hair I valued posts like this so much!

I started losing my hair only 1.5 years ago - within 6 months I had lost all the hair on my body. It was fast and devastating. I did all the treatments possible - injections, pills, AIP diet, meditation, herbs, homoeopathic pills, hormone tests...etc. Nothing worked!
This August I started two important treatments, that have resulted in hair growth all over my body!!! My eyelashes are complete and almost my eyebrows too. I have armpit hair and my scalp is covered in brown and grey hairs too!
One treatment is Zeljanz and the other is the discovery of a highly leaky gut (probably the reason why this all started).
I am taking 1-2 Zeljanz pills a day, and I believe this is the reason why I am starting to get quick growth. I have not experienced any side effects on the treatment. I have seen many posts about these pills and how others have seen good results too!
The Leaky Gut treatment,  I hope will be the long-term fix once I finish with Zeljanz. For this treatment, I am staying away from my food intolerances (which for me is mainly Dairy and Gluten) as well as taking L-Glutamine Powder, digestive enzymes, probiotics,  Eradicidin Forte pills, and Thorne Formula SF722 pills. I am also being treated for adrenal fatigue - as I am burnt out (another autoimmune trigger!).
For anyone who has lost all their hair and been told there is little to be done - do not give up. I would recommend people to see a Functional Doctor who will look at your body as a whole system, instead of trying to treat just your head. My Functional Doctor is the reason why I discovered my deeper problems.
In my experience, my alopecia was my body screaming at me that there was something else wrong with me. It was a side affect, not just a disease.

..."once I finish the Xeljanz". fyi - you never finish the Xeljanz. If one quits taking it, then usually the loss of hair occurs within 6 months.

Leaky Gut Syndrome has been linked to Alopecia for some time. Don't know anything about those things you are taking for it.

Finally, never heard of a functional doctor. Evidently, you are not in the US?
Functional doctor is another term for holistic medicine
you are real harsh with your replies.
harsh? I like to think of it as factual and to the point.

Of course you're only reading and can inflect any tone you want to the written word.

Functional, integrative medicine is a form of alternative medicine.  Medical doctors and other health care professionals in the US and all over are getting an additional specialization in this field of alternative medicine.  It is more like Eastern medicine.  The benefit of having an MD who is also a functional, integrative practitioner is your getting the best of the West and the East, versus a Naturopathic doctor who is not an MD.

why forever?afraid of side effect?forever????
Don't understand what you're asking. The word forever was not used. However, if Xeljanz only grows hair as long as it is taken, and one wants to keep their hair for the rest of their life, then xeljanz must be taken 'forever'.

And, we all know how expensive the drug is. Not bad if insurance pays, but insurance coverage can change. Circumstances for self pay can also change. Of course when the patent expires and generics can hit the market, it might become cheaper. It might not work as well, or could possibly be as expensive as the original - as with some drugs.

At least that is the scenario at the moment. A new treatment to regrow hair might come along in the next few decades. None of us knows what the future holds.
There is no such thing as leaky gut.

I wouldn’t waste your money on quack treatments.

Right...what does our digestive system have to do with any of our other systems?  It’s a completely separate and closed system from all of our other systems.  Oh wait, there’s the food conversion thing...hmmmmm

There is no such thing as leaky gut?  Really?  That's not what my GI doctor told me.  Do your research before making false claims.

No real MD told you leaky gut was real. A holistic quack told you that.

Why do you feel the need to comment only negative and mean things to people. A look at your track record on here, and its clear, its always the same type of comments.
