So I have to decided on a new wig. My previous one was a freedom wig and although I love it and it made my life much easier it is way to expensive for the 2.5 years it lasted (and I got the whole speech bout I shouldn't sleep in it I only did 5 times max the whole time I had it and swam with it the same or less I was never sure of swimming with it.) So its balding now and starting to get bad I spoke to my rep and I the only way to get a price estimate for repair is to ship it over I live in south Africa so I am really not sure its worth it and either way I need a replacement and I can't face the synthetic wefted wig which slip off for no reason which I used to wear before this wig..

I have been looking at other options and along the way came across full lace wigs. I had never heard of them before and as my family like to cool me Google I have researched it to death but I need unbaised opinions and advise... The prospect of having a hairline and not having to have hair on my face constantly is so exciting. Please any advise pros and cons are welcome don't want to go into this blind.

I have been ordering from orderwigsonline.com for the past year and a half. I have purchased several full lace and lace-front wigs from them custom sized to my head (which is unusually small and quite hairless). The prices are very reasonable, which enabled me to try all the cap styles, different highlights and mix percentages, textures, source hairs, measurements, and lengths. You might want to take a look at their web site, and message me if you have questions.

Other people on this site regularly order from Chinese vendors. I'm sure they also would be willing to help you and answer your questions.

The full lace units last six months to a year, depending on what you order and how tough you are on them. I've found that they last as long as a good "off the rack" synthetic, and they cost about the same (under $200) -- but they are custom made to your measurements. I have different colors, lengths, styles, and caps that I use for different activities. The full lace units are good for one length bobs or longer layered styles, and updos, but for short styles, they are a little flat and difficult to get right....so I still wear synthetics for the "boy cuts."

We order all lace wigs from qdbeauty. We get swiss lace with a silk top. My daughter attaches them with super tape that she buys on ebay. She sleeps in them, showers, etc. Wears them like her hair and changes every couple of days. They only look good a couple of months but she is hard on them.

Aimee, I replied to your post about getting your lace wig to stay on. I wore a full lace before my Freedom and it was lovely. I think Freedom's hair quality is better, but full lace was good. I used tape at first and that was fine, but I found it a bit annoying to have to put the tape on every day, so I ordered Dermafix strips and sewed them in and it was fine. I live in Cape Town, so wind was always an issue but the wig stayed put. I have also ordered from wig beauty, which is in JHB. They have very much the same stuff as Lori's wig site and they also do the derma fix, but from them you can only get the derma fix if you ordered it already installed in the wig, so you have to get a wig too.

1 year wig review

read the above thread FIRST.

go to "wigs, eyebrows, hair pieces, fashion" and hit next until you see the above topic. LOTS of good information on picking out a new wig.

Also of interest to me is Lisa's new post on TRIP TO CHINA. She seems to have found a quality hairpiece with a breathable cap, at a reasonable price.

My FREEDOM pieces have lasted at least 5 years. But I treat them like royalty due to their price. I use non-royalty pieces for other activities. My guess is it IS worth it to have your FREEDOM piece repaired. but yeah, meantime, you need another piece. best wishes!

You might read the prior discussions under the category

such as "1 year wig review"  "wig options"  "full lace wigs"  "HH wigs online help"  "endless pursuit of wigs"

you will find LOTS of input. best wishes to you!

okay, I did it! I found the one. The cuticle intact human hair piece that is custom made and tangle free!!! Price for mine was about $800

I own two FREEDOM pieces (too hot, too much like a helmet and super expensive), and have owned hundreds of other wigs, including those sold by Peggy K. But Lisa, a/k/a   alo-mom, has indeed cracked the code on hairpieces that will make us happy. please see her posts. call her. you will be skeptical as it sounds too good to be true, as was I. But I got mine, been wearing it, and it moves!!! No tangles. Great fit.

Her daughter was her first customer. She KNOWS what we need. If you are looking, call Lisa next!
