Hi Guys, Im just looking for some advice..

Basically in 2009 when i was 19 i was diagnosed with AA. I had about 6 circular patches on my head which lasted for about 6 months. At the time i was taking the birth control pill and once i stopped taking it my hair started to grow back.. I then got the birth control bar in my arm and the patches came back so i had it removed immediately..

my hair was growing perfectly up till 3 weeks ago when i noticed a small patch at the nape of my neck.. i did have my hair beached so i just assumed it was damage from the bleach and ignored it.. now the patch is about 2 inches big and i have 2 small patches on my head which are getting bigger on a daily basis..

i have noticed my eyebrows are thinning this time aswell(which hasnt happened before).. I went to the doctor the other day and he showed no interest.. i have tried all the treatments before and even tho i told him steriod oil doesnt work for me that was the prescription i got..

I am so upset of this as i feel the doctors dont care.. i just want to know if anyone found out what caused there alopecia and if anyone lost all there hair the second time round.. im really freaking out over my eyebrows because this is new to me. im currently on no medication so i can rule hormones out..

I also have necrobiosis lipoidica on my leg, its also an auto immune condition, im interested to know if anyone else has this and if they could be linked.

Thanks in advance for your replys,

Hello Katie

Alopecia is a very unpredictable condition and nobody can tell you what is going to happen with your hair, even the doctors. Everybody that has alopecia finds this a very difficult thing to take on board, but it is the truth.

At this time there is no cure for Alopecia Areata, Totalis, or Universalis...even though there is some breakthroughs with treatments happening at the moment.

It is not unusual to have more than one auto immune condition (my daughter has 5).

If I can be of any support or if you need any information feel free to contact me.
