My 14 year old lost all of her hair last year.  She is looking to connect with someone her age.  She feels her friends at school aren't able to relate to what she is going through.  And honestly they have no idea she has total hair loss.  They know she looks different, wears a wig, no longer has eyebrows or eyelashes.  But she tries to cover it up the best she can.  If anyone is interested in connecting with my daughter we would really appreciate it.  It has been a rough year.

Hi Stacey

I think CAP (Childrens alopecia project) may be a good option for you and your daughter.  Jeff and his wife do some fantastic work with children, teens and tweens that are dealing with alopecia.

www,childrensalopeciaproject.org

Also contact NAAF (National Alopecia Areata Foundation).

www.naaf.org

Both these organisations have meetings which will be so beneficial for your daughter.

If I can be of any support feel free to contact me.  My daughter has had alopecia since she was 12, she is now 23 years old.

Don't feel alone there is support out there.

Hugs

Rosy

Thank Rose Marie.  I've tried reaching out to a support group in our area but no luck so far.  But I will check out the children's alopecia project.

Appreciate your response,

Stacey

Stacey,

I have a 16 year old daughter that has had alopecia since she was 13. I am sure that she would love to talk with someone that is going through the same thing. I would love to connect them. Where do y'all live? I tried to send you a private message, but I couldn't because we aren't friends. I sent you a request, so we can communicate personal info through private messaging. I know how tough it is to see your child suffer, talking with someone who has gone through similiar experiences always helps. Praying for your family!
